We offer a Residential Supported Independent Living program for people with Traumatic Brain Injury. We are a comprehensive therapy, neuropsychological, and wellness clinic. We emphasizing a people-centered philosophy. Our dedication is to provide individualized care and attention to every participant. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and reassessments based on participant needs, referral questions, and applicable clinical and organizational requirements.
• Assess functional performance in areas such as household management, meal preparation, medication-management skills, community access, cognition, executive functioning, safety awareness, daily routines, and meaningful activity participation.
• Develop individualized plans of care with measurable, functional goals that reflect participant priorities, identified needs, and evaluation findings.
• Provide skilled interventions addressing independent living skills, instrumental activities of daily living, functional cognition, routines, compensatory strategies, environmental supports, and community participation.
• Assess participants’ functional ability to understand, organize, prepare, and follow medication routines in coordination with nursing and the interdisciplinary team.
• Facilitate or oversee medication-packing sessions within the occupational therapy scope of practice and established organizational procedures.
• Recommend adaptive equipment, assistive technology, environmental modifications, cueing, supervision, or other supports when clinically appropriate.
• Educate participants, families, guardians, direct support staff, and team members on strategies that promote safe and successful functioning across settings.
• Collaborate with nursing, speech-language pathology, psychology, care coordination, direct support staff, medical providers, pharmacy partners, and organizational leadership.
• Participate in admissions, care planning, team meetings, transitions, and discharge planning as appropriate.
• Complete evaluations, plans of care, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other required documentation accurately and within established timelines.
• Manage the assigned caseload and schedule responsibly while communicating significant changes, barriers, safety concerns, and medication-related concerns promptly.
• Provide appropriate guidance and supervision to COTA staff when assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in occupational therapy from an accredited occupational therapy program.
• Current and unrestricted license to practice occupational therapy in the State of Michigan.
• Experience working with adults with traumatic brain injury, acquired brain injury, neurological conditions, cognitive impairment, behavioral health needs, or other complex disabilities preferred.
• Experience providing services in home, community-based, residential, outpatient, or rehabilitation settings preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel locally between service locations as needed.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA, professional ethics, participant rights, and privacy expectations related to healthcare and human services.

• Ability to work independently while communicating and collaborating effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain clinical information clearly to participants, families, staff, and external providers.
• Strong organization, time-management, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach and commitment to high-quality, person-centered care.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning electronic health records and other digital platforms.
