We are looking for a Lead Occupational Therapist to provide pediatric services to clients in clinic and community settings. The Lead Occupational Therapy works under the supervision of the Clinical Director. The Lead OT plays a crucial role in guiding and supervising our team of OT’s and COTA’s in delivering quality rehabilitative services for children suffering from physical, emotional, mental or developmental impairments.

Position Overview: Lead Occupational Therapist demonstrates professional knowledge of, and skill in applying, a wide range of theories, principles, and methodologies of the practice of occupational therapy. Lead OT serves as a mentor and resource for the team, providing support and guidance on complex cases, treatment techniques, and best practices in the field.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Occupational Therapists and COTA’s, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the highest quality of therapy services.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to patients, including assessments, evaluations, and individualized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with multi disciplinary services OT, COTA, SLP, PT, Mental health, and ABA.
- Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and strategies to enhance functional independence.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in occupational therapy practices and incorporate evidence-based approaches into treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient evaluations, progress, and treatment outcomes.
- Participate in departmental meetings, professional development activities, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies, protocols, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices in occupational therapy services.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
- Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- NC State license as an Occupational Therapist.
- 3+ years of clinical experience in occupational therapy is required.
- A minimum of 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience required
- Advanced certifications or specializations in areas such as pediatrics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven track record of successful team management
- Experience in developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives
- Knowledge of electronic health record (EMR) systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proven experience in providing effective occupational therapy services across a variety of settings.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to develop innovative treatment plans.
- Proficiency in using assessment tools, treatment modalities, and adaptive equipment.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to occupational therapy practice.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with emerging trends in the field.
