This person has solid clinical training and experience working with a variety of ages, populations, backgrounds, and presenting issues. The Position
- The Licensed Therapist position is a clinical role performed by a licensed mental health professional who provides professional therapeutic services to individuals, couples, families, and/or groups. This role involves applying mental health, psychotherapeutic, and human development principles to facilitate adjustment and development throughout the lifespan.
- This position operates on a hybrid model, requiring set days at our Denton office on the square, along with remote/virtual (telehealth) sessions from your home. This offers flexibility and independence while benefiting from our supportive environment and comprehensive administrative assistance.
- While this is structured as a full-time position, it requires building toward a commitment of a minimum of 60 billable client hours per semi-monthly pay period (averaging 30 hours per week). Candidates should anticipate a ramp-up window of up to 180 days to reach full caseload expectations, meaning full-time status and benefits eligibility will not be reached immediately and will be phased in as your caseload grows.
Work Environment
- Sessions will take place both remotely virtual/telehealth (Texas) at your place of residence or designated private and secure location and at our Denton, TX office located at 207 W. Hickory St., Suite 202, Denton, TX 76201.
Compensation
This is an hourly position with compensation commensurate with your education, training, and experience, yielding an estimated annual pay range of $40,000 to $65,000 per year as your caseload develops. Compensation is processed on a net-30 payment schedule, meaning earnings for billable hours worked in a given pay period are paid 30 days following the end of that period.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Delivers individual, couples, family, and/or group therapy sessions tailored to client needs and treatment plans.
- Maintains a minimum clinical caseload of 60 billable client hours semi-monthly (averaging 30 billable hours per week), alongside administrative duties.
- Provides virtual/telehealth clinical counseling services to TheraPride clients as scheduled.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date client records, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to ethical, legal, and professional standards.
- Collaborates with practice leadership to optimize scheduling, intakes, and client inquiries for an improved client experience.
- Works closely with practice leadership on billing and insurance claims for timely and accurate processing.
- Proactively seeks guidance and support from the leadership team to uphold the highest standard of client care.
- Adheres to all TheraPride policies and procedures in the clinical role.
- Participates in regular team meetings, sharing knowledge and insights to enhance therapeutic services and foster a positive, collaborative culture.
- Engages in monthly professional development and CEU opportunities to stay current with best practices and industry developments.
Required Qualifications
- Possesses a Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education with a specialty in clinical mental health counseling or psychology.
- Holds a current Texas LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or LP license in good standing and without restriction.
- Demonstrates proficiency in conducting basic psychological assessments, formulating diagnoses, and implementing interventions for clients across all age groups.
- Possesses experience and training in administering evidence-based treatments such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, EFT, and similar methodologies.
- Is adept at creating and adapting goals and treatment objectives as necessary for effective evidence-based therapy.
- Possesses in-depth comprehension of therapy-related ethical and legal obligations for client care.
- Shows willingness and initiative to seek supervisory and consultative support when needed and required.
- Agrees with and demonstrates the mission, vision, and core values of TheraPride.
- Exhibits outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Commits to sustaining a minimum of 60 billable client hours per semi-monthly pay period (averaging 30 hours per week monthly).
- Is skilled at keeping meticulous and orderly client documentation.
- Demonstrates leadership qualities and a propensity for teamwork.
- Maintains availability of a confidential and professional setting for telehealth sessions.
- Ensures reliable access to a high-speed, secure internet connection.
- Possesses a secure computer or laptop for professional use.
- Is able and willing to work in the Denton, TX office at least 3 days a week.
- Exhibits an entrepreneurial drive to establish oneself as a successful clinician within a private group practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years post licensure experience or doctorate in counseling, clinical mental health, or a related field associated with licensure.
- Is EMDR trained or certified (EMDRIA approved).
- Possesses experience working with the LGBTQ+ and other diverse communities.
- Possesses experience working with children and adolescents.
- Has other specialized training and/or experience with special and/or marginalized populations.
