REQUIREMENTS
- NJ Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Nursing Diploma from an Accredited Nursing Program
- Proof of Immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B)
- Proof of a negative PPD or QuantiFERON upon hire
- BLS Certification (Required)
- Valid driver’s license and corresponding car insurance
- Professional Malpractice Liability insurance
- Preferably have experience as a specialty RN in home infusion, ambulatory infusion, critical care, acute care, or home healthcare environment
- Strong IV insertion skills
- Willingness to travel within an assigned geographic area
- Flexibility with schedule to work, including occasional evening or weekend patient visits as needed
- Flexibility to work alternate shifts on short notice and be on call for field visits as determined by business need
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Home Infusion Nurse will provide a positive, safe, and professional patient care experience.
- Provide safe, professional, and high-quality infusion therapy in patients’ homes, ensuring accurate administration of parenteral medications (oral, IM, SQ, IV) without errors.
- Perform IV access and maintenance (PIV, PORT, PICC, Midline) and conduct phlebotomy as needed.
- Monitor patient health status, detect changes, and communicate abnormal findings to the supervising clinician promptly.
- Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, side effect management, and care expectations, documenting responses thoroughly.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using electronic devices or paper, adhering to state, federal, and organizational standards (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA).
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to evaluate medication regimens and improve patient outcomes.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of medications and specimens.
- Perform nursing tasks such as obtaining lab specimens, taking vital signs, and administering oxygen therapy when required.
- Maintain professional conduct; build rapport with patients and caregivers, and exhibit empathy and trustworthiness.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay current with equipment maintenance and calibration.
- Complete all required clinical documentation, including plans of care, visit notes, and discharge summaries.
