Job Summary
Theatre Major, LLC is seeking an organized, tech-savvy, and culture-focused Alumni Community Management Fellow to lead the setup, launch, and ongoing engagement of our exclusive digital ecosystem on Pumble.
This community serves as the central hub for our extensive alumni network—spanning current BFA Acting and Musical Theatre students, working regional/touring professionals, and artists currently on Broadway.
This is a 1099 independent contractor, project-based summer role. The Fellow will act as the digital community host and operational lead, creating a vibrant space for peer-to-peer mentoring, audition assistance, housing swaps, and industry networking.
Primary Responsibilities & Deliverables
1. Platform Setup & Launch
- Configure the Pumble workspace channels, user permissions, and profile structures.
- Draft and pin a clear Community Code of Conduct and safety protocols tailored to theatre professionals.
- Create simple onboarding assets (e.g., a quick 1-page guide or short video) to help alumni adopt the platform.
- Execute the initial launch wave and invitation blasts to our alumni roster.
2. Community Management & Engagement
- Serve as the official "Welcome Committee," greeting and tagging new members as they join.
- Maintain a weekly engagement calendar with regular prompts (e.g., monologue recommendations, self-tape requests, casting tips, survival job drops).
- Actively moderate channels to ensure a supportive, professional environment that complies with company guidelines.
- Facilitate cross-network connections (e.g., encouraging working pros and Broadway alumni to advise current college students).
3. Resource Curation & Data Tracking
- Build and pin reference materials (crowdsourced sublet sheets, survival job leads, audition prep guides).
- Track key metrics (onboarding rate, active users, top threads) and submit bi-weekly engagement reports to the Founder.
- Prepare a queue of automated/scheduled prompts for the Fall season during the end-of-summer transition.
Qualifications
- Industry Knowledge: Deep familiarity with collegiate theatre programs (BFA/BA pipelines) and the professional acting industry.
- Tech-Savvy: Highly proficient with digital communication platforms (Slack, Pumble, or Discord). Basic Canva/graphic skills are a plus.
- Communication: Outstanding written communication skills with the ability to maintain an encouraging, professional, and authentic tone.
- Self-Starter: Proven ability to work independently, manage project timelines, and meet deliverables without direct daily supervision.
