As a PMHNP at The Willow Center, you will work closely with therapists, medical providers, and clinical staff to develop individualized treatment plans that promote healing, wellness, and long-term recovery in a supportive and patient-centered environment.

Education & Licensure

Required

• Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program.
• Current, unrestricted Indiana license as a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
• Current DEA registration with unrestricted prescribing authority.
• Compliance with all Indiana and federal prescribing requirements, including regulations related to psychiatric and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) medications.

Preferred

• Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or other doctoral degree.

Essential Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management for adolescent and adult clients.
• Assess, diagnose, and treat individuals experiencing mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, trauma-related disorders, mood disorders, and substance use disorders.
• Evaluate clients for medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and prescribe addiction treatment medications when clinically appropriate.
• Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, and treatment progress while adjusting medications as needed.
• Identify and respond appropriately to clinical concerns, including suicidal ideation, medication interactions, substance use complications, and complex medical or psychiatric conditions.
• Provide medical recommendations related to clients' overall health, wellness, and primary healthcare concerns.
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with therapists and other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, referral sources, community providers, and internal team members.
• Protect client confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and all applicable federal and state regulations.
• Demonstrate professionalism, ethical decision-making, cultural humility, and compassionate patient care.
• Utilize company-required technology, including electronic medical records and other clinical software.
• Support fellow team members and contribute to a positive, collaborative workplace culture.
• Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support quality client care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of psychiatric medication prescribing experience.
• Experience prescribing psychiatric medications and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for individuals with substance use disorders strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices for mental health and addiction treatment.
• Experience working with clients who have experienced complex trauma, co-occurring disorders, and emotional dysregulation.
• Previous credentialing with Indiana Medicaid and commercial insurance payers preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to recognize situations requiring immediate intervention.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Flexible, dependable, patient-focused, and committed to continuous learning.
• Willingness to work two evening shifts per week.

Additional Requirements

• Maintain an unrestricted Indiana RN/APRN license and DEA registration.
• Successfully complete an Indiana State Police criminal background check.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain certification within six months of hire.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, productive clinical environment.

Preferred Experience:

• Psychiatric medication management: 2 years
• Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT): 2 years
• Mental health and substance use disorder treatment: 2 years
