The Willow Center is hiring a recovery-focused team member to support individuals facing substance use and mental health challenges, particularly those transitioning out of incarceration. This role involves providing one-on-one and group coaching at the Hendricks County Jail and at their Brownsburg outpatient office, helping clients prepare for reentry into the community and continue recovery treatment. The position emphasizes compassionate, client-centered care, teamwork, and strong communication with both clients and criminal justice partners. Candidates should have experience in mental health or addiction services (preferably peer recovery coaching), be comfortable working with justice-involved populations, and have skills in group facilitation, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed support. Certification such as CPRS or similar is required, along with a high school diploma (bachelor’s preferred) and at least two years of relevant experience. Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Peer Recovery Coach / Recovery Support Specialist to join our team. This role focuses on supporting individuals with substance use and mental health challenges, particularly those transitioning from incarceration to community-based recovery.


You will provide individual and group coaching services in both a jail setting and outpatient treatment environment, helping clients build skills for long-term recovery and successful reintegration into daily life.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group recovery coaching within the Hendricks County Jail for individuals nearing release
  • Deliver coaching and skills development at the Brownsburg outpatient office for clients in substance use disorder treatment
  • Support clients experiencing substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health challenges (e.g., anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation)
  • Assist clients in preparing for successful reentry, including referrals and linkage to ongoing outpatient services
  • Communicate effectively with clients, correctional staff, clinicians, families, and external providers
  • Facilitate a supportive, respectful, and trauma-informed environment for all clients
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records systems
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all confidentiality requirements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support program success

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health, substance use treatment, or peer recovery support (preferably with justice-involved populations)
  • Active certification required: CAPRC-I, CAPRC-II, CPRS, CPRC, or CRS
  • High school diploma required (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Comfortable working with individuals impacted by complex trauma and criminal justice involvement
  • Familiarity with the criminal justice system and reentry challenges
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening
  • CPR and First Aid certified or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in both individual and group settings
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, structured environment
