The Uplift Agency (Uplift) is an agile and fast-growing social change and sustainability consulting firm working to make business better for people and the planet. Uplift’s clients include public and private service-based and manufacturing companies, as well as high-profile nonprofit organizations at various stages of ESG sophistication. Uplift is seeking a Web Developer to join our talented team of creative professionals. 

Projects could include:

• Websites for social impact campaigns 
• Brand refreshes to integrate new social impact/sustainability/ESG messaging to client websites (back-end design)
• Developing custom code to fit the needs of specific business applications
• Updating and altering application features to enhance performance
• Developing ideas for new programs, products, or features by monitoring industry developments and trends

Responsibilities:

• Execute and manage website projects from concept to delivery
• Generate fresh concepts and user interactions in partnership with Creative leads
• Liaise between the creative and account management teams to ensure deadlines are met 
• Research and test new web technologies
• Assist with troubleshooting problems, analyzing malfunctions and resolving problems
• Develop and maintain operational systems, tools, and processes, and participate in tactical and strategic development projects
• Implement contingency plans in case the website goes down
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility of new features

Professional Qualifications:

• Strong with JavaScript/CSS/HTML
• Experience with server-side frameworks such as python, ruby, php, Java, ASP, ASP.NET
• Experience with database systems such as SQL and Oracle strongly preferred
• Self-motivated, quick learner who can manage multiple projects with moderate direction
• Expert written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical team 
• Strong understanding of the web development cycle and programming techniques & tools
• Interest and passion in social impact and sustainability 

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, web design, multimedia design, or related field OR relevant experience
• 4+ years of current hands-on web application architecture, design and development experience
• Proven success in project coordination
