Position Overview


The Cleaning Associate is responsible for keeping all areas of the dispensary clean, sanitized, organized, and customer-ready. This part-time role ensures our sales floor, back-of-house spaces, offices, and restrooms meet the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities


General Cleaning and Sanitation

  • Maintain cleanliness of the sales floor, front of house, and customer-facing areas
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, floors, and replenishing supplies
  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, and disinfect floors and surfaces
  • Clean glass, mirrors, doors, and high-touch areas throughout the store

Back-of-House and Support Areas

  • Keep staff areas, offices, break rooms, and storage rooms clean and organized
  • Remove trash and recycling from all areas of the store
  • Maintain cleanliness of employee workstations and shared spaces
  • Clean and sanitize back-of-house equipment as needed

Sales Floor and Merchandising Support

  • Spot-clean fixtures, counters, kiosks, and product displays
  • Wipe down registers, counters, and POS areas
  • Support basic tidying during business hours to maintain a polished customer experience

Safety and Compliance

  • Follow all cleaning protocols aligned with retail compliance and New York cannabis regulations
  • Handle cleaning supplies and chemicals safely and according to guidelines
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with store leadership to prioritize daily cleaning needs
  • Support special projects or deep-clean tasks
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and team members

Qualifications


  • Prior cleaning, janitorial, or custodial experience preferred, especially in retail or hospitality
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable with physical tasks, standing, bending, lifting, and moving throughout the shift
  • Dependable, punctual, and consistent
  • Strong communication skills and positive attitude

Job Type and Compensation

Job Type: Part-time

Schedule: On-site, flexible hours; early mornings may be required

Hourly Rate: $19 per hour

Work Location: On-site at one of our New York City retail locations (Union Square, Fifth Avenue & SoHo)

Salary

$17 - $21 per hour
