About the Society for Classical Learning

The Society for Classical Learning exists to foster human flourishing by advancing classical Christian education. Through training, accreditation, strategic partnerships, and thought leadership, SCL equips schools, educators, and leaders to cultivate excellence, rooted in historic Christianity and the richness of the classical tradition.

Organizational Background

SCL is a national leader in the classical Christian school movement, serving educators, institutions, and communities through a focused, three-pillar strategy:

  • Institution Builder – Strengthening the foundation of classical Christian schools through accreditation, leadership cohorts, training, and the newly developed Pathway Services framework.
  • Growth Engine – Expanding access to classical Christian education by supporting school startups, networks, and entrepreneurial leaders, including through the bold Generations Fund initiative.
  • Culture Maker – Shaping the broader narrative of classical Christian education through thought leadership, media, policy advocacy, and national events like SCL’s Summer Conference.

Together, these three pillars form a comprehensive approach to sustaining the movement’s integrity while meeting the challenges of scale, reach, and public witness.

SCL is committed to historic Christianity as expressed in the Nicene Creed and to exploring the relationship of Christ to the broader culture.

SCL is a fully remote nonprofit organization experiencing rapid growth and innovation. Team members operate with a high degree of ownership, intrinsic motivation, and personal initiative—each contributing to the strategic advancement of classical Christian education for generations to come.
