The Community Manager will be the face of our Fayetteville location, responsible for creating a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging community. This person will oversee the day-to-day operations of our new Fayetteville location, manage member relations, and facilitate events to foster connection and collaboration. The ideal candidate is someone who is highly personable, organized, and eager to contribute to the growth of our company. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in The Root’s successful entry into the Fayetteville market and to help establish the brand as a market leader in the region.

Key Responsibilities:


Community Engagement:


  • Build and maintain relationships with members, understanding their needs and fostering a sense of belonging.
  • Plan, organize, and host community-building events such as networking sessions, workshops, social activities, and distribute all necessary info to promote the event, including creation and posting of weekly event graphics.
  • Act as the main point of contact for members, handling any inquiries, feedback, or requests.
  • Consistently celebrate members’ successes and milestones through gifts and notes.
  • Know and recommend local restaurants, food delivery services, catering options, team outing venues, etc. 
  • Write and send notifications to members relating to the location through Slack & OfficeRnD.
  • Help facilitate member networking by connecting individuals and businesses within the space.


Building Operations:


  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the space, ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Man the location’s Espresso Bar (located at the Hospitality Bar / Front Desk), providing excellent espresso-based drinks to members and guests (previous barista experience a plus, but not required).
  • Know and explain The Root’s policies and procedures and communicate, inform, and update members on building issues. 
  • Maintain the physical workspace, ensuring it’s always clean, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.


Business Development:


  • Lead tours for prospects and guests of Root members.
  • Manage the onboarding process for new members, providing tours and ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Conduct New Member Orientation, including educating members on all relevant Root policies and procedures and encouraging usage of the app to activate the space’s amenities.
  • Engage in the local community outside of work by attending events and networking with local start-ups, established businesses, and community organizations.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with vendors and landlords.


Sales & Marketing Support:


  • Execute marketing and sales tasks in tandem with the Operations Team, including but not limited to, managing sales pipeline in Monday.com, posting to the location’s Facebook page, sending in photos of events to the marketing and social media team, etc. 
  • Regular follow ups through emails and phone calls with active prospects.
  • Maintaining occupancy standards with high member retention, and continuing to hit quarterly revenue goals.
  • Assist the sales team with drafting monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports for the location.


Team Management:


  • Manage and develop the Community Associate to reach sales goals and hospitality standards, and execute on objectives as an individual and as a team.
  • Lead professional development within the location team, including regular performance reviews.
  • Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings and weekly team meetings.



Ideal Experience & Skills:


The ideal candidate will be an energetic, people-oriented professional with hospitality (e.g., boutique hotel management), restaurant, retail, and/or customer service experience. Qualifications should include:


  • College graduate with a four-year degree (preferred, but not required).
  • Customer service and sales experience is required.
  • Familiarity with the Coworking and Hospitality Industry considered a plus.
  • Project management and business operations experience required.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience managing a team of more than two people.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Demonstrate integrity, dependability, responsibility, accountability, self-awareness, work ethic, and compassion.
  • Passion and understanding for entrepreneurial communities.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills.
