About The Paws

The Paws is a luxury dog grooming salon on Richmond Road in Staten Island. Our clients bring us dogs they treat like family, and they expect a level of care, discretion, and polish that an ordinary salon doesn't deliver. Our stylists handle the grooming. We are hiring the person who sets the tone at the front of the house.

The role

As Front Desk Coordinator you are the first person our clients meet and the last one they see. You own the book, keep the day moving, and make every visit feel effortless and personal.

Schedule and pay

Full-time, roughly 35 to 40 hours per week. Weekend availability is required, since Saturday is our busiest day. Pay is $17.00 to $20.00 per hour depending on experience.

What you'll do

• Welcome clients and their dogs at check-in and check-out with warmth and polish

• Own the phone, texts, and booking calendar, and keep the daily schedule running on time

• Process payments and deposits, and close out the register at the end of the day

• Maintain detailed client profiles: contact information, vaccination records, breed and coat notes, and grooming preferences

• Manage rescheduling, cancellations, and the waitlist so no chair sits empty

• Coordinate between clients and stylists on pricing, timing, and special requests

• Keep the lobby, counter, and retail display immaculate and well stocked

What we're looking for

• A polished, professional presence in person and on the phone

• Comfortable around dogs of all sizes and temperaments

• Discretion and grace with clients who expect a high standard

• Organized under pressure: a ringing phone, a full lobby, and a stylist needing an answer, all at once

• Reliable weekend availability

• Comfortable with scheduling and point of sale software, and quick to learn new systems

• Experience at a high-end salon, spa, hotel, boutique, or veterinary front desk is a strong plus

• Able to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs
