Next Gen Pastor - The Orchard Church

Position Overview

The Next Gen Pastor provides a balanced program of ministry to children, students, and college-age individuals by equipping staff members in PreK, Kids, and Student ministries while primarily focusing on college student discipleship. This full-time ministerial position reports to the Lead Pastor and is essential in developing the next generation of disciples at The Orchard Church.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the ministry team leader for children, student, and college ministries
  • Lead in accordance with The Orchard Church's core values, mission, and vision
  • Equip and provide leadership for PreK, Kids, and Student ministry staff
  • Develop, implement, and grow a comprehensive college ministry program
  • Create discipleship strategies specifically for college students and younger generations
  • Support and enhance family ministry initiatives
  • Manage annual operational budgets for Next Gen ministry areas
  • Develop lay-leaders to help manage responsibilities (Ephesians 4:11-12)
  • Plan and assess ministry activities designed to reach college students
  • Recruit church members and guests to attend college ministry programs

Qualifications

  • Preferred Licensed or Ordained Minister
  • Moral character consistent with The Orchard Church's Constitution, Bylaws, and Statement of Faith
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in church ministerial environment with focus on youth/next generation ministry
  • Preferred ministerial degree with substantiated leadership experience
  • Strong personal faith and committed prayer life
  • Understanding of current events, college/youth culture, and social media

  • Effective communication with all levels of staff, community, and particularly college-age individuals
  • Ability to interpret and respond to personal and confidential situations
  • Management of multiple priorities and events
  • Proficiency with MS Office, internet, email, and social media resources
