The InfoWars Editor writes and edits for the InfoWars brand, and is a driving force behind producing written content across web, video, features, and any special projects (books, live events, etc.) They are also expected to be able to mentor and edit the work of contributors, staff, and senior writers.
The InfoWars Editor is directly responsible for generating regular content, ensuring high-quality output. They actively seek out opportunities to grow the brand, primarily on web and social.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development of full-length prose and features for web as well as all elements of ‘site texture,’ including but not limited to house ads, surveys, and other special executions
- Ensuring that InfoWars reaches agreed upon prose output targets
- In partnership with the Executive Editor and the Marketing team, spearheads recruitment of new contributors as part of a larger effort to build the talent pipeline
- Works closely with the Marketing team to develop exclusive social content, developing assignments, and approving content
- Provides graphics notes when necessary, working closely with designers to develop complementary assets
- Giving contributor feedback on a regular basis
- Shepherding contributors—inclusive of identifying new talent, evaluating the work of existing contributors, determining meeting attendance and assigning tasks
- Special projects by request
- Meeting participation — attend all required meetings
- Revision notes — expected to provide detailed draft notes to staff writers, freelancers, and the marketing team
- Expected to represent Global Tetrahedron at speaking and teaching events
- Run prose-specific meetings
- May be asked to help coordinate the ideation and execution of sponsored content
- Edits of features or other content types
- Additional duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate Skills & Experiences:
- Highly developed comedic sensibility
- Strong writing skills across all formats
- Ability to curate best jokes for a feature
- Aptitude for thoughtfully referencing and satirizing cultural zeitgeist and society at large
- Identifying weakness in others' written pieces and giving tactful notes to help them improve
- Participation in group-oriented idea generation
- Capability to work on and meet tight deadlines
- Understanding of editorial process
- Ability to lead, mentor, provide headline feedback to incoming Editorial and Marketing talent
Compensation And Benefits
- $90,000 - $100,000, based on experience
- Full eligibility for our benefits offering, including Medical, Vision, Dental, Disability, and Life Insurance. (We fully cover the cost of our base medical insurance for the employee.) We also offer Unlimited PTO, in consultation with your Manager.
