The Now Agency Inc. YouTube Strategy & Operations Manager Remote · Full time Company website

We're looking for a YouTube Strategy & Operations Manager to help brands build, run, and grow high-performing YouTube channels. You'll figure out how a channel is performing today, where it can grow, and what it should become, then make sure that strategy comes to life on the platform. You know that winning on YouTube takes more than good videos. You understand how content, packaging, audience behavior, discovery, and programming work together, and you're just as comfortable reviewing a retention curve or optimizing a title as you are presenting a roadmap to a client. You'll work closely with our creative, production, social, analytics, and account teams, and you'll report into our Director of YouTube Strategy, who will provide strategic guidance and mentorship along the way.

Description

What You'll Do:

  • Own YouTube channel operations. Manage publishing end to end, including uploads, scheduling, metadata, titles, descriptions, thumbnails, playlists, chapters, captions, end screens, cards, permissions, and channel settings. Maintain rigorous QA before and after every publish.
  • Optimize channel architecture. Organize playlists, homepage modules, channel sections, featured content, and channel navigation so viewers can easily find content and keep watching.
  • Monitor channel health. Track and resolve publishing issues, copyright and Content ID flags, broken links, incorrect metadata, content restrictions, and other platform issues. Stay current on YouTube Studio updates and new features.
  • Dig deep into YouTube Analytics. Analyze impressions, CTR, watch time, average view duration, audience retention, traffic sources, subscribers, and returning viewers at both the channel and video level. Build Studio reporting views that surface the metrics that matter.
  • Turn analytics into optimization. Diagnose whether performance is limited by the content, packaging, audience, programming, or channel structure, and turn findings into clear next steps. Build monthly client reports covering what happened, why, and what to do next.
  • Run structured testing. Test titles, thumbnails, hooks, formats, and lengths using a consistent framework, and keep a running learning agenda so every video teaches us something.
  • Support strategy & creative teams. Partner with the Director of YouTube Strategy, Creative, and Production on channel audits, roadmaps, content pillars, and briefs. Give YouTube-native feedback on content before launch and help present recommendations to clients.
  • Maintain the content operating system. Keep content calendars, publishing schedules, and repeatable workflows organized so channel management runs efficiently and scales across clients.

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5+ years of experience working directly with YouTube, digital video, content strategy, social media, or a closely related field.
  • Hands-on experience managing, publishing, and optimizing YouTube channels for brands, publishers, agencies, creators, or media companies.
  • Deep fluency in YouTube Studio and YouTube Analytics, and a strong sense of what drives discovery, retention, and channel growth.
  • A solid grasp of YouTube creative best practices, including titles, thumbnails, hooks, pacing, video structure, and format.
  • Experience building channel strategies, content roadmaps, programming calendars, or similar frameworks.
  • The ability to independently audit, strategize, operate, analyze, and recommend. You'll have Director support on larger client strategy and more complex client relationships.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills, from metadata to client-facing recommendations.
  • Great organization and a collaborative style. You can juggle multiple channels, deadlines, and stakeholders, and you enjoy a fast-moving agency environment.
