Assistant Manager

The Nest at Black Hawk

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Position Summary

The Nest at Black Hawk is seeking a dependable, energetic, and hospitality-focused Assistant Manager to help oversee the daily operations of our unique glamping resort. This position is designed to provide leadership support across every department while ensuring guests receive exceptional service and the property operates efficiently.

The Assistant Manager serves as the primary leader during times when the Resort Co-Managers are off duty and plays a key operational role during busy weekend periods. This is a hands-on leadership position that requires flexibility, initiative, and the ability to jump into any department as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the daily operation of all resort departments, including:
  • Front Desk
  • Housekeeping
  • Entertainment Dome (Restaurant & Bar)
  • Laundry
  • Grounds and General Operations
  • Lead resort operations during evenings, weekends, and other shifts when the Co-Managers are unavailable.
  • Ensure exceptional guest service by resolving guest concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Support team members by filling operational gaps wherever needed.
  • Monitor cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards throughout the property.
  • Assist with staff training, coaching, and accountability.
  • Help coordinate daily staffing needs and operational priorities.
  • Maintain safety, sanitation, and company standards.
  • Support special events and resort activities.
  • Perform opening and closing manager duties.
  • Complete administrative tasks, reports, and shift documentation as required.

Qualifications

  • Previous hospitality, hotel, restaurant, or resort management experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and guest service abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and work both indoors and outdoors.
