The Midas Collaborative, Inc. Program and Policy Manager (Temporary) Remote · Part time

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program & Policy Manager (Temporary) will support the Midas’ work to advance economic mobility and financial security for low- and moderate-income individuals and families across Massachusetts. This six-month, hands-on role combines policy and advocacy, stakeholder engagement, program management, communications, and event coordination. This role will help prepare Midas and its coalition partners for the upcoming legislative cycle, lead key activities of the Financial Empowerment Network (FEN), coordinate the Financial Empowerment Learning Institute (FELI), identify and support new program opportunities, strengthen participant and alumni follow-up, and support workshops, events, and other organizational initiatives. The ideal candidate is an experienced nonprofit professional who is highly organized, an excellent writer and communicator, comfortable working independently, and able to move multiple projects forward in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities 


Policy & Advocacy 

  • Work closely with the Executive Director to advance the organization’s policy and advocacy priorities. 
  • Help prepare the organization for the upcoming Massachusetts legislative cycle, including tracking relevant legislation, policy developments, and advocacy opportunities. 
  • Attend legislative, coalition, community, and stakeholder meetings and represent the organization as appropriate. This includes attending periodic in person events. 
  • Draft policy letters, talking points, advocacy communications, and letter-writing campaigns. 
  • Develop presentations and materials for policymakers, community leaders, funders, and other stakeholders. 
  • Develop program, policy, and event-related communications and outreach materials. 


Financial Empowerment Network (FEN) 

  • Serve as the primary staff lead for the Financial Empowerment Network. 
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and communications with FEN members and partners. 
  • Coordinate FEN meetings, events, agendas, communications, and follow-up. 
  • Provide oversight and coordination of FEN committees, including supporting committee chairs, tracking priorities, and ensuring follow through on action items. 
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen network engagement and advance shared economic mobility priorities. 


Financial Empowerment Learning Institute (FELI) 

  • Coordinate the day-to-day implementation of FELI programming. 
  • Lead participant recruitment, outreach, scheduling, and communications. 
  • Coordinate program dates, logistics, instructors, participants, and partners. 
  • Support marketing and promotion of FELI and maintain accurate program information. 
  • Maintain and update the FELI webpage and related digital materials. 


Participant, Alumni & Outcomes Engagement 

  • Support data cleanup and maintenance across program tracking systems and databases. 
  • Coordinate participant and alumni follow-up activities. 
  • Lead or support 6-month and 12-month follow-up surveys and outreach. 
  • Collect participant and alumni testimonials, stories, and other qualitative outcomes that demonstrate program impact. 
  • Identify stories and participant experiences that can inform policy advocacy, communications, fundraising, and program improvement. 
  • Support marketing campaigns for FELI, FEN, workshops, events, and other initiatives. 


Qualifications 

  • 4–7 years of relevant professional experience in nonprofit management, public policy, economic mobility, financial empowerment, community development, advocacy, or related field. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, nonprofit management, communications, social services, business, economics, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered. 
  • Experience with policy advocacy, coalition engagement, legislative processes, community engagement, or stakeholder relations. 
  • Strong project management skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently. 
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft compelling advocacy materials, testimony, presentations, and stakeholder communications. 
  • Strong relationship building, facilitation, and public-facing communication skills. 
  • Experience coordinating programs, workshops, events, networks, or stakeholder convenings. 
  • Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and organizational skills. 
  • Comfort with databases/CRM systems, Salesforce knowledge a plus, website content management, email marketing, and common digital productivity tools. 
  • Commitment to economic mobility, financial security, and expanding opportunities for low- and moderate-income communities. 
  • Ideally, must be within commuting distance to Boston Massachusetts for in person events.

Six-Month Priorities 

  • Establish and support implementation of the organization’s policy and advocacy priorities for the upcoming legislative cycle. 
  • Strengthen FEN recruitment, engagement, meetings, and committee management. 
  • Successfully coordinate FELI recruitment, delivery, communications, and web presence. 
  • Develop a consistent process for participant and alumni follow-up, including 6- and 12-month surveys and collection of testimonials. 
  • Build a pipeline of potential new program opportunities and ensure appropriate handoffs for implementation. 
  • Lead virtual workshops and sessions planned for 2027. 
  • Complete a well-organized Call for Proposals process for the 2028 Financial Health & Wellness Summit. 
  • Strengthen program communications, website content, and marketing support across key initiatives. 

 

 

Setting: 25 hours/week. Hybrid role, must be available to attend periodic in person events in Massachusetts. 

 

Compensation: $40-$50/hour based on experience 

 

This is a temporary six-month position. Extension or continuation beyond the initial term is not guaranteed.
