Job Duties and Responsibilities:
A Sous Chef is responsible for the following job duties and responsibilities that include but are not limited to:
- Perform tasks essential to the daily operations of the Kitchen with the Executive Chef such as ordering, inventory, scheduling, and continuous training and development*
- Supports the Executive Chef to execute seasonally inspired menus in collaboration with the Product & Catering Director*
- Maintain the highest standards in flavor, consistency and visual appeal
- Supports the kitchen ensuring efficiency, consistency and excellence*
- Commitment to researching and recommending current culinary trends, techniques, and ingredients
- Follow proper recipes, knife skills and cooking techniques to provide consistent ingredients and finished products*
- Balance prep work while ensuring items are prepared in a timely manner while maintaining high standards*
- Work closely with the Executive Chef to collaborate with the Front of House leadership to deliver seamless customer experience*
- Analyze customer needs, questions and handle feedback in a professional manner
- Maintain sanitation and quality assurance according to company policy*
- Assist with store events*
- Ensure strict compliance with all rules and policies, including but not limited to applicable health and safety policies and laws (i.e.- those that relate to cleanliness and sanitation) *
- Collaborate with the Marketing Dept. to craft creative and profitable plans to increase sales, promote items and gain industry exposure*

- Required knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of safe food handling and safe work habits
- Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- Works well in a fast-paced, high pressure, and high-volume environment
- Able to analyze relevant reports, such as sales, P & L, payroll etc.
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills
- Possess strong customer service skills
- Possess the ability to work alone or as part of a team dynamic
- Possess effective leadership, managerial, and supervisory skills
- Able to effectively manage and solve problems and challenges
- Able to adapt, be flexible and manage varying situations and issues
- Possess knowledge of inventory management and point of sales systems
- Possess knowledge of and abide by relevant laws and company policies
- Possess proficient communication skills in English (to accurately convey information or ideas) in a manner that is understood
- Able to proficiently read in English
- Required Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ Years experience as Sous Chef in a high volume restaurant/catering environment
- Culinary degree from an accredited university a plus
- Experience launching new concepts a plus
- Passion for Food & Service
- Knife Skills
- Required education or certifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Culinary degree from an accredited university preferred
- Food Safety Manager Certification from an accredited institution preferred

- Comply with all Safe Food handling requirements
- Adhere to all Federal, State and Local regulations pertaining to the food preparation
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 90 % of the workday
- Must be able to move or traverse for 90 % of the workday
- Must be able to ascend and descend stairs or ladders
- Must be able to position oneself to stoop, bend or crouch to carry out the job duties
- Frequently move, transport, position, install, or remove objects or items that are up to 40 pounds for 10 feet
- Work in an environment that features hot and cold temperature variations
- Work indoors and outdoors
- Work in an environment in which you are exposed to food allergens
