The Manchester Hotel is an upscale lifestyle hotel opening in the Spring of 2023, in the heart of the Distillery District of Downtown Lexington, KY. We are seeking high energy, self-motivated bartenders for both our Granddam concept as well as our rooftop bar Lost Palm.
As a bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in a fast-paced bar environment. Your main role will be to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests, take and process drink orders, and ensure that guests have an enjoyable experience. You will also be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar area, managing cash transactions, and complying with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Welcome guests in a friendly and engaging manner and provide exceptional customer service.
- Take and accurately record drink orders from guests, including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and other specialty drinks, according to established recipes and standards.
- Provide recommendations to guests on drink selections based on their preferences and the bar's offerings.
- Engage with guests and provide a high level of personalized service, anticipating their needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including cleaning and sanitizing bar tools, glassware, and other equipment, restocking supplies, and keeping the bar area clean and tidy.
- Manage cash transactions, including handling cash, processing credit cards, and providing accurate change.
- Follow all applicable laws and regulations related to serving alcoholic beverages, including checking identification of guests to ensure they are of legal drinking age.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and clean bar environment.
- Collaborate with other bar staff, kitchen staff, and other team members to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints in a professional and courteous manner, escalating issues to the appropriate personnel when necessary.
- Stay updated on current industry trends, new products, and drink recipes, and continuously improve bartending skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience as a server in a restaurant or similar establishment preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask efficiently.
- Basic math skills for handling payments and making change.
- Knowledge of food and beverage items and their preparation methods.
- Ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and composure.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and lift moderate weights for extended periods of time.
