**Bookkeeping Intern**

This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to start their career in bookkeeping and accounting. As a Junior Bookkeeper, you will work under the supervision of senior staff and play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records for our clients. This position reports to the Senior Bookkeeper and supports various departmental operations, contributing to the financial health and efficiency of our clients' businesses.


This job is a project-based role with continued employment dependent on business needs and performance. This specific role is part time with an estimated amount of time required to work to be 15-25 hours weekly.



Job Duties for Bookkeeping Intern:

This position is within our bookkeeping department and is essential for managing our clients' day-to-day financial transactions. You will collaborate with a dedicated team to handle the following responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions by establishing accounts and posting transactions to the general ledger.
  • Reconcile bank statements and monthly accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements & management reports.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial data.
  • Retain documents related to client files


Qualifications for Bookkeeping Intern:

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in bookkeeping or related role preferred. 
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic understanding of financial principles and accounting procedures.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience with cloud-based accounting systems.
  • Familiarity with tax preparation software.
  • Previous experience in a public accounting firm.


Compensation:

  • Starting $17.00-$19.00/hour DOE + performance bonus.
