JOB DESCRIPTION

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Program Assistant coordinates evening programs according to the Family Center Department. In addition, the Program Assistant will support the Family Center team by executing basic administrative tasks, distributing diapers from the diaper bank, and completing referral forms.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interacts and communicates with the public and other employees in a courteous and professional manner
  • Answers a multi-line phone system, obtains and delivers messages to the appropriate staff on time
  • Coordinate program activities, ensuring that the rooms are set up and cleaned up properly and conducted efficiently
  • Arrange and secure meeting/event space as needed or requested
  • Distribute diapers according to Family Center policies and procedures
  • Assist guests in need of family support or other resources according to Family Center policies
  • Complete referral and contact forms for Resource Navigators
  • Know about all necessary computer programs
  • Maintain a safe, clean workplace
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, be flexible, organized, and able to effectively prioritize work tasks
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Skilled in the use of all Microsoft Office products

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • 2-3 years of customer service experience preferred
  • Current Act 33/34 and FBI clearances

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports to: Family Center Program Coordinator
  • Direct reports: None

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  

  • Indoor  
  • Evening Hours: 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Monday - Thursday
  • Frequently required to work at a fast pace
  • Weekend work may be required based on programming

Salary

$15 - $17 per hour
