Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Management
- Assist in the day-to-day oversight of field operations to ensure work progresses according to schedule and project plans.
- Supervise labor crews and coordinate the efforts of foremen to maintain productivity and workflow.
- Assist in planning daily and weekly work activities, identifying potential delays, and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain a visible presence on-site to address issues in real time and reinforce accountability among crews.
2. Safety Coordination
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on the jobsite by ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses.
- Perform routine safety audits and inspections to identify risks and implement corrective measures.
- Ensure all workers and subcontractors are properly trained, equipped, and adhering to safety protocols at all times.
3. Subcontractor Management
- Assist in scheduling, coordinating, and managing subcontractors across multiple trades to maintain efficient sequencing of work.
- Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure adherence to project timelines, scope, and quality standards.
- Coordinate material deliveries, equipment usage, and site logistics to prevent delays and congestion.
- Facilitate communication between trades to resolve conflicts and maintain workflow continuity.
4. Quality Control & Inspections
- Conduct regular site walks to verify that all work meets project specifications, drawings, and applicable building codes.
- Identify and address deficiencies early to prevent rework.
- Work closely with subcontractors to uphold quality expectations.
- Coordinate inspections with local authorities and third-party inspectors, ensuring all required approvals and documentation are obtained in a timely manner.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily reports detailing labor, equipment, weather conditions, and work progress.
- Track material deliveries and usage through summary tickets.
- Document incidents, delays, and changes in scope.
- Provide regular updates to the Lead Superintendent and Project Manager to support decision-making and project tracking.
6. Closeout & Punch List Coordination
- Assist in the project closeout process by developing, tracking, and completing punch lists.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure all outstanding items are corrected promptly and to the required standard.
- Verify completion of all contractual obligations, including final inspections, documentation, and turnover materials.
- Support a smooth transition from construction to owner occupancy.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2–5+ years of experience in commercial or industrial construction, with demonstrated field supervision or foreman-level responsibilities. Experience working with multiple trades and managing subcontractors is highly desirable.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel to job sites as required. Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, or overtime based on project demands.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and shop drawings. Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Working knowledge of local building codes, inspections, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong commitment to job site safety, with knowledge of OSHA standards and safety best practices.
- OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.
