Located in downtown Memphis, the Hub campus is a safe, kind, and respectful environment that serves as a single point of entry to comprehensive support services for those experiencing homelessness. We provide our guests with the stabilizing resources they need, including temporary shelter, assistance acquiring identification, employment opportunities, and referrals to community partners.

The Hub Hotel Attendant handles full room turnovers, guest room and bathroom cleaning, linen service, and restocking — the same core housekeeping duties you'd perform at any hotel, resort, or extended-stay property. Primary Location: 590 Washington, Memphis, TN 38105 

Hours: 5 days/week, 10:00 am–6:00 pm (days and times may vary, weekend availability strongly proffered)

Pay: The salary for this position is dependent on the candidate's demonstrated experience, expertise, and skill. The salary range for this role starts at $15.50/hr. Hourly team members are compensated with pre-approved overtime pay for hours exceeding 40 hours a week.

While the primary responsibilities of the position are outlined below, this list is not exhaustive. 


Responsibilities 

Room & Property Turnovers


  • Complete full room turnovers between guests — cleaning, sanitizing, bed-making, laundry, trash removal, mopping
  • Prepare rooms for arrival, including welcome amenities
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms: toilets, sinks, showers, mirrors
  • Restock guest supplies — soap, toiletries, paper products

Housekeeping & Property Care

  • Maintain the linen closet; launder towels, sheets, comforters, and pillows to sanitation standards
  • Mix and use cleaning solutions/chemicals correctly and safely
  • Operate cleaning equipment and power machinery without damaging floors or fixtures
  • Clean and polish fixtures and furniture; dust surfaces, walls, and equipment
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors throughout the property
  • Keep hallways, elevators, common areas, and shared spaces (family room, team room, snack room) clean and tidy
  • Handle daily spills and messes; empty trash receptacles; water plants; clean glass doors and windows
  • Partner with the Facilities team on supply orders and maintenance needs

Team

  • Support the training and onboarding of new hires and interns, reflecting our commitment to being a learning organization.
  • Must be available to work additional shifts as needed to support warming and cooling center operations during extreme weather events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 


Requirements

  • 1+ year of housekeeping, custodial, or hotel room attendant experience
  • Working knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies
  • Able to be on your feet for 8-hour shifts and lift up to 30 lbs
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and takes pride in a job well done
  • Comfortable following cleaning checklists and protocols
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Passionate about people and spaces
