About the Role:

The Facilities Supervisor's primary responsibility is to bring dedication, skill, and passion to the upkeep, cleanliness, and maintenance of all Hub Memphis campuses. The Facilities Supervisor role is critical to the Hub, providing a hospitable and functioning trauma-informed environment free of clutter and dirt for guests to find healing. We are looking for a skilled maintenance professional with proven leadership ability, experienced in mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and drywall abilities, who can both perform hands-on work and supervise others in doing the same.

Secondary Location: 28 N Claybrook, Memphis, TN 38104 and 777 Firestone Memphis TN 38107

Hours: Typical hours for this position are Monday through Friday 8a.m. to 4p.m.

Benefits: A generous paid time off policy, parent leave, professional development, 401(k), and medical insurance are offered to all regular full-time employees. Regular training is provided to all employees.

Pay: The salary for this position is dependent on the candidate's demonstrated experience, expertise, and skill. The salary range starts at $24-$27. Hourly team members are compensated with overtime pay for hours exceeding 40 hours a week.

While the primary responsibilities of the position are outlined below, this list is not exhaustive.


Responsibilities

  • Facilities Supervisor alongside the Facilities Manager, supervises, schedules, and coordinates the daily work of facilities team members, ensuring tasks and projects are completed successfully and on time.
  • Trains, coaches, and mentors facilities staff, including onboarding new team members on Hub facilities systems, safety protocols, and cleanliness standards.
  • Assists the Facilities Manager with hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations for facilities team members.
  • Facilities Supervisor alongside the Facilities Manager, oversees the maintenance of all Hub Memphis properties, including buildings and grounds on all campuses.
  • Facilities Supervisor alongside the Facilities Manager, learns and responds to all physical building systems, including related computer systems, to first troubleshoot and then call for vendors or contractors as needed.
  • Oversees and performs basic troubleshooting and assessment for all major mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, including regular inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Oversees and completes basic maintenance, troubleshooting, and assessment of all Hub properties, including roof, hardscape, and landscaping.
  • Diagnoses and repairs issues in various systems, including replacing defective parts, wiring, and plumbing fixtures.
  • Establishes a safe and attractive environment for employees, guests, and visitors by performing safety audits and inspections, conducting safety-related training, and setting a high standard for health and cleanliness.
  • Adheres to and enforces all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring equipment and facilities meet safety standards.
  • Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, service logs, and repair documentation, and inventory of all supplies. 
  • Works with Work Local to address janitorial or landscaping needs.
  • With the Facilities Manager and other project leaders, supports contractor work, manages subs, and completes maintenance projects in a timely manner and within budget.
  • Schedules regular maintenance work to ensure vehicle functionality and longevity, and schedules urgent or emergency repairs as needed.
  • Manages vehicle licensure and registration, and coordinates with Work Local Supervisors to ensure vehicle cleanliness.
  • Assists the Facilities Manager in motivating and guiding the janitorial staff in their efforts to keep all of our buildings clean.


Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in a role in construction, handyman work, or on a facilities team, including prior experience leading, training, or supervising others.
  • Valid Driver's License and Safe Driving Record.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the following: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural, safety systems, architectural, landscape, and energy management.
  • Skill in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Strong relationships with various subcontractors and vendors.
  • Exceptional customer service, relationship-building, and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills, with a demonstrated focus on team building, coaching, and training.
  • Able to independently troubleshoot technical and other issues; is a problem solver.
  • Confident user of computers and technology, including POS systems, Work Order management systems, spreadsheets, and Google Workspace.

  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification
  • De-escalation and mediation training
  • Supervisory and people-management training
