The Facility Associate’s primary responsibility is to bring dedication, skill, and passion to the upkeep, cleanliness, and maintenance of the Hub campus for staff, guests, and visitors to be safe, motivated, and thriving. The Facilities Associate’s role is critical to the Hub, providing a hospitable and functioning trauma-informed environment free of clutter and dirt for guests to find healing. We are looking for a skilled maintenance professional experienced in mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and drywall abilities.


Team Culture and Expectations: The Hub is a human first social agency meaning our goal is to decrease suffering for the person in front of us while simultaneously building systemic solutions. While the primary responsibilities of the position are outlined below, we expect all staff to be flexible and available to respond to emergencies and fulfill programmatic responsibilities which may require working holidays, weekends, evenings, or nights. Additionally, the Hospitality Hub serves people who have experienced discrimination, violence, and other traumatic events. Many Hub clients and guests are healing from trauma related to their marginalization. It is critically important that all members of the Hub team maintain a hospitable and welcoming environment by remaining calm and kind when clients are feeling frustrated.


Primary Location: 590 Washington Ave. Memphis, TN 38105

Hours: Typical hours for this position are Monday through Friday 8a.m. to 4p.m.

Benefits: A generous paid time off policy, parent leave, professional development, 401(k), and medical insurance are offered to all regular full-time employees. Regular training is provided to all employees. 

Pay: The salary for this position is dependent on the candidate's demonstrated experience, expertise, and skill. The salary range starts at $18-20. Hourly team members are compensated with overtime pay for hours exceeding 40 hours a week.

While the primary responsibilities of the position are outlined below, this list is not exhaustive.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • General Facility Maintenance: Perform routine upkeep such as painting, minor construction, and general repairs to structures, fixtures and fittings.
  • System Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems to ensure proper functioning.
  • Repairs: Diagnose and repair issues in various systems, including replacing defective parts, wiring and plumbing fixtures.
  • Equipment maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot machinery and equipment, including lubrication, cleaning and parts replacement.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring equipment and facilities meet safety standards.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, service logs, and repair documentation.  
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage an inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
  • Support the training and onboarding of new hires and interns, reflecting our commitment to being a learning organization.


Key Skills and Requirements

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems. 5+ years experience in a role in construction, handyman or on a facilities team.
  • Tool Proficiency: Skill in using diagnostic tools, hand tools and power tools.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skillets determine appropriate solutions for maintenance issues.
  • Communication: Ability to maintain accurate records and update logs.
  • Valid Drivers License and Safe Driving Record.


Training provided by The Hospitality Hub

  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification
  • De-escalation and mediation training
