Position Summary: The Executive Clinical Director provides strategic and operational leadership for The Guiding Light Wellness Center’s clinical and therapeutic programs, including outpatient individual therapy and the Therapeutic Afterschool and Summer Enrichment Program. This role oversees the clinical quality and operational efficiency of services, supervises program staff including Therapists, the Office Coordinator, and Behavioral Support Specialists and ensures financial sustainability. The Executive Clinical Director maintains compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards while fostering a trauma-informed, client-centered, and collaborative organizational culture.

Duties and Responsibilities: The Executive Clinical Director provides leadership and oversight for all clinical and operational aspects of The Guiding Light Wellness Center, including outpatient therapy and the Therapeutic Afterschool and Summer Enrichment Program. This role supervises and mentors staff ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed, and evidence-based care. The Director manages program budgets to maintain financial sustainability, monitors compliance with regulatory and professional standards, oversees clinical documentation and treatment delivery, facilitates team meetings and interdisciplinary collaboration, and supports strategic planning, program development, and community partnerships. Additionally, the Executive Clinical Director provides guidance during critical incidents and ensures that both clinical and operational functions align with the organization’s mission and goals.

Essential Functions:

Strategic Program Development

  • Conduct and apply program needs assessments and data analysis to inform program enhancements and improvements
  • Ensure financial sustainability through budget oversight, resource allocation, and strategic planning to maintain operational efficiency and long-term viability.

Clinical Growth & Innovation

  • Drive clinical growth initiatives by promoting evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches, supporting staff professional development, and monitoring treatment quality and outcomes.

Executive Leadership & Team Collaboration

  • Serve as a member of the executive leadership team, contributing to high-level organizational planning and decision-making.
  • Work closely with the CEO to align clinical priorities with operational sustainability.
  • Provide mentorship and strategic guidance to clinical team.

Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree required in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.

Active Independent Maryland Licensure (LCSW-C, LCPC, or equivalent) in good standing

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in behavioral health, with at least 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.

Experience in program management, staff supervision, and budget oversight.

Knowledge of trauma-informed care, evidence-based interventions, and youth/family systems.

Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to integrate clinical expertise with operational and fiscal management.



Salary

$85,000 - $95,000 per year
