Description

The Senior IT Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise technology architectures that enable secure, scalable, and reliable business operations. This position provides technical leadership for infrastructure, cloud environments, software and license management, vendor management, and automation platform deployment. The Senior IT Architect serves as a key advisor on enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) technologies while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry best practices.

The successful candidate possesses deep technical expertise across cloud platforms, enterprise systems, security architecture, and automation technologies, with the ability to troubleshoot complex configuration issues across diverse IT environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise IT architecture strategies, standards, and roadmaps.
  • Provide technology planning and technical architecture support for enterprise systems and cloud environments.
  • Develop and manage software and license management plans, ensuring compliance with licensing requirements and organizational policies.
  • Provide vendor management support, including evaluation, selection, performance monitoring, and coordination of technology vendors and service providers.
  • Install, configure, deploy, and maintain approved Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools in production environments.
  • Develop and implement RPA platform support plans, operational procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Design secure system architectures that comply with applicable cybersecurity requirements, industry standards, and organizational policies.
  • Conduct architecture reviews, risk assessments, and security evaluations for new and existing systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex configuration, integration, and performance issues across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Support cloud infrastructure design and implementation activities, including migration, optimization, and operational support.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, project teams, developers, cybersecurity personnel, and system administrators to ensure successful solution delivery.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations for modernization and process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop technical documentation, architecture diagrams, implementation plans, and operational procedures.
  • Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and system resiliency planning efforts.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technical staff and project teams.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10–15 years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise IT architecture, systems engineering, cloud architecture, or related technical disciplines.
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale IT systems and architectures.
  • Experience with software asset management and license compliance programs.
  • Experience managing technology vendors and third-party service providers.
  • Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting RPA platforms (or similar platforms / technologies) in production environments.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, security architecture, identity management, and risk management.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare technical documentation and present architectural recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Openshift, Kubic, etc.
  • Experience with enterprise automation and RPA tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Microsoft Power Automate, or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of federal government IT environments, security frameworks, and compliance requirements.
  • Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP, ITIL, or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting DevSecOps, infrastructure automation, and enterprise integration initiatives.

$105 - $107 per hour
