The Firm Foundation Learning Center is a team of collaborative, educational professionals with a unifying desire to put families and children first and empower them with the tools for lifelong literacy across content areas. We serve private, public, and homeschooling students in the counties of southern middle Tennessee. This may include learners with dyslexia, dysgraphia, AD/HD, math disabilities, or those who suffer from anxiety around school.

We are looking for passionate educators who understand the impact that meaningful, positive relationships can have on children and the importance of direct, multisensory instruction. Tutors will be matched with learners according to their professional specialty in the areas of reading, writing, or math.

Tutor Duties Include:

• Planning individualized lesson plans based on their students' needs
• Determine the specific needs of a child, with or without learning disabilities taking into consideration both normed and summative data
• Utilize research based strategies
• Craft and carry out an effective intervention plan and communicate it to families
• Tutors might be trained in specialty methods such as Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Fundations, Lively Letters, SPIRE, and more.

This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed teacher who wants to supplement their income or continue working while home with children or retired.

Requirements:

• College degree in teaching or other related field
• Teaching License (Preferred)
• Excellent communication skills
