Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service:

• Greet and assist customers with product selection, answering questions about deli/meat items, and making recommendations based on their needs.
• Process customer orders promptly and accurately, ensuring an excellent shopping experience.

1. Product Preparation and Presentation:

• Slice, package, weigh, and label meat and deli products following store and safety guidelines.
• Stock displays and cases with high-quality products, ensuring items are fresh, appealing, and well-presented.
• Assist in the preparation of deli items such as sandwiches, salads, and specialty trays.

1. Food Safety and Cleanliness:

• Follow all food safety regulations, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of products.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area, including counters, equipment, and utensils.
• Regularly check product expiration dates and remove or discard expired items.

1. Inventory and Stock Management:

• Monitor stock levels, rotate products as needed, and report low inventory to the Deli/Meat Department Manager.
• Assist with product receiving, unloading deliveries, and organizing stock in refrigerators or storage areas.

1. Equipment Operation:

• Safely operate deli slicers, scales, knives, and other equipment as required.
• Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in a deli, meat department, or food service environment is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of meats, cheeses, and food handling practices.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Physical ability to stand, lift, and bend for extended periods and lift up to [specified weight, e.g., 50 pounds].

Work Schedule:

• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, as needed.
