We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Meat Cutter to join our team. This role involves cutting, trimming, and preparing various types of meat for sale, ensuring high quality, safety, and cleanliness. Key Responsibilities:


  1. Meat Cutting and Preparation:
  • Cut, trim, and prepare a variety of meats, including beef, pork, poultry, and seafood, following customer specifications and store standards.
  • Grind, slice, and portion meat accurately for display cases and customer orders.
  • Create specialty cuts and displays, maintaining visual appeal and quality.
  1. Customer Service:
  • Assist customers with meat selection, providing knowledgeable recommendations and answering questions.
  • Take custom orders and ensure prompt, accurate preparation and packaging of products.
  • Address and resolve customer concerns or inquiries with a friendly and helpful attitude.
  1. Safety and Sanitation:
  • Follow all food safety regulations and store policies regarding the handling, storage, and disposal of meat products.
  • Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and sanitized, following health and safety standards.
  • Inspect meat products for quality, freshness, and adherence to store specifications.
  1. Inventory and Stock Management:
  • Monitor inventory levels, check dates on products, and ensure a consistent rotation of stock.
  • Notify the Meat Department Manager of low stock, quality issues, or special order requests.
  • Properly label and price products, maintaining accuracy for customer purchasing.
  1. Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
  • Operate saws, grinders, slicers, knives, and other cutting equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Perform regular cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience as a Meat Cutter, Butcher, or in a similar role is a plus.
  • Knowledge of different meat cuts, preparation techniques, and food safety standards.
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to [specified weight, e.g., 50 pounds], and work in a refrigerated environment.
  • Attention to detail and precision in cutting, portioning, and packaging products.

Work Schedule:


  • Flexible availability to work various shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.


Salary
