Event Coordinator/Operator (Part-Time)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Event Coordinator/Operator to join our team on a part-time basis. This role will involve both the logistical and operational aspects of managing events, including the transportation, setup, coordination during the event, and breakdown of equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth event operations and contribute to the overall success of our food booth and pop-up events. This position offers flexible, part-time hours based on the event schedule.
Key Responsibilities:

Event Coordination: Work closely with event staff and vendors to ensure the event runs smoothly. Act as the on-site point of contact for all logistical needs during the event.

Equipment Transportation: Manage the transportation of event equipment (e.g., booths, supplies, displays) to and from event locations.

Setup and Breakdown: Set up event booths and equipment according to company standards and dismantle and pack up equipment post-event, ensuring nothing is left behind or damaged.

Logistics Management: Coordinate the scheduling, transportation, and setup of event materials to meet event timelines and operational goals.

Issue Resolution: Address and troubleshoot any issues that arise during setup or the event to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Maintenance: Ensure equipment is in good condition, report any damages, and handle basic repairs if needed.

Safety and Efficiency: Oversee the safe and efficient setup and teardown of booths, following safety protocols.

Communication: Maintain ongoing communication with clients regarding deadlines, setup needs, and necessary documentation

Brand Identity: Ensure event setup and operations are aligned with our brand identity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1-2 years of related experience in event coordination or facility management
- Proficiency in Google Suite and general office equipment
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure
- Capable of working independently and collaborating with staff at all levels
- Willingness to accommodate varying physical demands based on event requirements
Working Hours:
- Part-time hours will vary based on event dates.
- Most events occur on weekends or evenings, with setup and breakdown times typically requiring 6-12 hours per event.
Compensation:
- Compensation: $20/hour for all hours worked, including transportation, setup, event coordination, and breakdown.
- Opportunities for additional compensation for extended hours or long-distance travel may be available.
Location:
- This role requires travel to various event locations, primarily within Lynchburg, Roanoke, Blacksburg and Richmond, but can go out further.
- Must be available for both local and out-of-town events as required.
