We have an opening for a Grammar School Teacher Apprentice (Classroom Aide) who desires to be part of a growing, learning, and vibrant classical Christian school culture. The role is designed as an apprenticeship pathway for individuals who are actively pursuing a future in lead teaching and who are eager to grow within the classroom under the mentorship of experienced lead teachers. The role of the Apprentice Aides is crucial to the execution of the school’s mission. These team members support our outstanding lead teachers while gaining meaningful, hands-on experience in classroom instruction, student support, and the rhythms of a classical Christian learning environment. Apprentices will also have the opportunity to participate in enriching learning experiences within a Christian worldview. Experience in working with children is preferred. Successful candidates will wholeheartedly agree with our school’s Statement of Faith, Mission and Vision, and will serve as a positive influence within the culture and community of the school. Ideal candidates will have classroom experience or a strong desire to become a teacher and show commitment to growing in instructional practice over time.

Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist Lead Teacher in preparing for daily classroom activities.

2. Assist Lead Teacher in maintaining a healthy, respectful classroom environment that promotes the virtuous pursuit of knowledge and truth.

3. Assist the Lead Teacher in preparing for the day’s lessons by providing copies or executing prep work.

4. Monitor students, grade homework, and check student work.

5. Model the qualities and attitude of a humble, lifelong learner.

Salary

$21 - $23 per hour
