We’re seeking a dedicated Certified Peer & Family Specialist (CPFS) to join our mission-driven team. This role will support individuals on their recovery journey — particularly in our Trailhead, Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and Sober Living programs — by offering peer mentorship, recovery planning, and resource navigation

True North Recovery Services is a comprehensive outpatient addiction treatment program based in the Denver Metro Area. We are dedicated to helping individuals achieve long-lasting recovery from substance use disorders through a holistic approach that combines evidence-based therapy, physical exercise, and wellness support. Our unique Active IOP integrates therapy sessions with physical activities to promote both mental and physical health, empowering clients to discover their “True North” and build a fulfilling life free from addiction.

Description

  • Provide one-on-one support to individuals in recovery from mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Utilize crisis intervention techniques to assist clients in managing acute situations.
  • Engage in motivational interviewing to empower clients in setting and achieving personal goals.
  • Facilitate group sessions focused on coping strategies, life skills, and recovery planning.
  • Collaborate with behavioral health professionals to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate records using EHR systems to track client progress and document interactions.
  • Mentor clients by sharing personal experiences and offering guidance based on your own recovery journey.
  • Assist clients in navigating community resources, including housing, employment, and social services.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Certified Peer & Family Specialist (CPFS through COPA) certification.
  • QBHA training/certification in life skills.
  • Lived experience of recovery, with a minimum of 2 years in sustained recovery.
  • Strong communication (written & verbal), empathy, and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or other).
  • Additional experience or certification in mental health, evidence-based therapies, or trauma-informed care.
  • Experience with structured programs like IOP, sober living, outpatient services.

Salary

$22 - $26 per hour
