The Atlanta Business League is seeking a dependable, organized, and service-oriented Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of our headquarters.

This position is ideal for a proactive administrative professional who enjoys creating an organized office environment, assisting members and community stakeholders, coordinating meetings and events, and helping a mission-driven organization operate successfully.

As the first point of contact for many of our visitors and members, the Administrative Assistant will play an important role in creating a welcoming, responsive, and professional experience.

What You Will Do 

Office and Front-Desk Operations

• Open and prepare the office for daily operations and complete assigned closing and security procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional office environment.
• Greet visitors, members, vendors, and community stakeholders professionally.
• Answer and route telephone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries.
• Monitor office supplies and coordinate purchasing and replenishment.
• Receive, sort, and distribute mail and deliveries.

Administrative Support

• Prepare, edit, proofread, and distribute letters, reports, memoranda, presentations, and meeting materials.
• Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, conference calls, and organizational activities.
• Maintain calendars, databases, contact lists, spreadsheets, and electronic and paper filing systems.
• Track administrative assignments, deadlines, responses, and follow-up items.
• Prepare meeting agendas, attendance records, notes, and other materials as assigned.
• Provide administrative support to employees, leadership, and Board members.
• Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

Event and Program Support

• Assist with planning and coordinating meetings, conferences, workshops, programs, and special events.
• Support registration, participant communications, event materials, room setup, and on-site logistics.
• Assist with event records and post-event administrative follow-up.
• Support the Program Coordinator and Client Services Manager with assigned projects.
• Assist authorized staff with routine updates to the organization’s website.

What We Are Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

• A high school diploma or equivalent, Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• At least two years of administrative, front-office, customer-service, or related office experience.
• Experience working with a nonprofit, membership association, professional organization, or executive office is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, proofreading, and time-management skills.
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• The ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• A professional, positive, and service-oriented approach.
• The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small team.
• The ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule and Work Environment

This is a full-time, office-based position in Atlanta. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support meetings, programs, and special events.
