The Atlanta Business League is seeking a dependable, organized, and service-oriented Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of our headquarters.
This position is ideal for a proactive administrative professional who enjoys creating an organized office environment, assisting members and community stakeholders, coordinating meetings and events, and helping a mission-driven organization operate successfully.
As the first point of contact for many of our visitors and members, the Administrative Assistant will play an important role in creating a welcoming, responsive, and professional experience.
Compensation Package
The starting salary for this position is $40,000 annually, with a performance and compensation review after 90 days.

What You Will Do
Office and Front-Desk Operations
- Open and prepare the office for daily operations and complete assigned closing and security procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional office environment.
- Greet visitors, members, vendors, and community stakeholders professionally.
- Answer and route telephone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries.
- Monitor office supplies and coordinate purchasing and replenishment.
- Receive, sort, and distribute mail and deliveries.
Administrative Support
- Prepare, edit, proofread, and distribute letters, reports, memoranda, presentations, and meeting materials.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, conference calls, and organizational activities.
- Maintain calendars, databases, contact lists, spreadsheets, and electronic and paper filing systems.
- Track administrative assignments, deadlines, responses, and follow-up items.
- Prepare meeting agendas, attendance records, notes, and other materials as assigned.
- Provide administrative support to employees, leadership, and Board members.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Event and Program Support
- Assist with planning and coordinating meetings, conferences, workshops, programs, and special events.
- Support registration, participant communications, event materials, room setup, and on-site logistics.
- Assist with event records and post-event administrative follow-up.
- Support the Program Coordinator and Client Services Manager with assigned projects.
- Assist authorized staff with routine updates to the organization’s website.
What We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent, Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- At least two years of administrative, front-office, customer-service, or related office experience.
- Experience working with a nonprofit, membership association, professional organization, or executive office is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, proofreading, and time-management skills.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- A professional, positive, and service-oriented approach.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small team.
- The ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule and Work Environment
This is a full-time, office-based position in Atlanta. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support meetings, programs, and special events.
