Description

The ideal Tree Health Care Specialist is someone that is self-motivated, ambitious, and has extensive knowledge in preserving and caring for trees. They are very detail oriented, and able to identify, monitor, evaluate, and execute tree health care needs. They provide proactive recommendations to clients, as needed. They are familiar with regional tree species, and knowledgable in diagnosing insect damage, injury, and/or diseased trees. They work closely with the Sales and Production Teams to ensure product quality is aligned with client expectation, and occasionally they help to train and/or share their arboriculture knowledge with other departments. 


Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):



  • Performs tree care treatments using spray, tree injection, and soil injection tools, as determined by Team Arborist
  • Mixes and applies pesticides and fertilizers to trees according to diagnosis, schedule, safety procedures, label instructions, fill charts, and state laws
  • Prepares and disperses horticultural chemicals, as required, to ensure proper growing conditions for trees
  • Properly maintains and operates all company vehicles, equipment and tools (i.e., hand tools, spray agitators, portable spray equipment, vehicles, and other machinery)
  • Ability to manage projects according to contract and budget
  • Maintains a strong attention to detail
  • Accurate record keeping and daily reporting
  • Comprehensive knowledge/understanding of MSDS and chemical uses
  • Works closely with Production Team to schedule work
  • Communicates with clients regarding work performed during site visits and upon completion
  • Operates efficiently and safely at all times 


Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Extensive knowledge of principles, procedures, and best practices in the tree care industry
  • Exemplary customer service skills


Education and Experience:


  • QAL - Qualified Applicator License, required
  • Bachelors Degree in Arboriculture or other industry related field preferred, but not required
  • Minimum 3 years industry related job experience
  • Bilingual, Spanish preferred, but not required

Salary

$24 - $30 per hour
