Physician (California) – Telehealth Mental Health for Healthcare Professionals

Location: Remote (Telehealth – California)

Position Type: (4-8 hrs/wk) | Remote | Contract

Position Overview

Tend Health is seeking a a skilled, compassionate physician (MD/DO) Licensed in California to provide assessments and medication management via telehealth. We are looking for someone who is experienced and passionate about providing high-quality, concierge-level mental healthcare services to healthcare professionals, including medical residents, fellows and faculty.  This role involves working collaboratively with psychologists who provide psychotherapy to shared clients. The ideal candidate is looking to expand their clinical practice in a concierge-style telehealth model within an innovative and growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct brief and ongoing assessments and medication management
• Provide seamless support through secure video sessions, phone, and messaging platforms
• Tailor services to meet client needs with flexible scheduling
• Engage in case discussions and collaborate with psychologists and other health providers
• Refer clients to additional services as needed

Qualifications

• Education: MD/DO in Psychiatry, Family Medicine or relevant specialty, licensed to practice in California. (active, valid and unrestricted license)
• Experience: 5+ years of clinical experience in mental health care

o  Experience with physicians and/or healthcare professionals as patients required and experiencce in medical settings, integrated care teams, or health professions training programs preferred

• Licensure: Must hold an active, unrestricted medical license in the State of California along with active DEA
• Certification: Board-certified in Psychiatry or a related field preferred but not required.
• Passion for providing one-on-one consultation and medication management
• Availability for flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends

Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in utilizing telehealth tools, EHR systems, and HIPAA-compliant electronic communication platforms in accordance with industry best practices.
• Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with adults in diverse populations in medical settings, on integrated teams in health professions training programs preferred. 
• Ability to work independently while maintaining professional boundaries and ethical standards.

●      Reliable internet connection and private, professional workspace for telehealth sessions.

●      Hold a current professional liability insurance policy.

Compensation

●      Independent Contractor Arrangement (1099)

●      Competitive hourly rates (starting at $200-$225 per hour)
