The Programs Manager is responsible for the general objectives of our meal services at our Taste Community Restaurant, Arlington location. These services include our Pay-What-You-Can meal service, evening events, and garden.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as the Meal Services Team Lead, with responsibilities including: the assignment of roles within the team, resolving conflicts in priority between roles within the team, and covering unfilled roles within the team.
  • Fill unassigned roles within the Meals Services Team, including when coverage is needed for planned and unplanned time off.
  • Represents the objectives and accountabilities of the Meal Service team within the Food Security Team and other food security programs.
  • Proactively assess and address the barriers which might hinder or otherwise compromise the meeting of the Meal Service Teams objectives within the team and to the broader organization.
  • Proactively look for opportunities to increase efficiency of program delivery and provide improved program outcomes.
  • Scheduling Meal Services Team members to ensure adequate coverage is provided to meet program guidelines and objectives. Including support needed to ensure the success of other Taste Programing.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate measurement of the Meals Service Teams metrics and outcomes to the broader organization.
  • Participate in hiring assessments of potential new employee partners and facilitate the performance review process as assigned.
  • Manage maintenance and repair of furnishings, fixtures, and equipment to ensure the restaurant is in working order.
  • Review Meal Service Team expenses for completeness and accuracy to assigned budgets, categorization, and overages. Make necessary adjustments Assess and review budget and resources expenditures assigned to food security related programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • 2-years nonprofit experience preferred.
  • 2-years restaurant management preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problems solving skills.
  • Ability to interact and engage with a diverse population with compassion and patience.
  • Food Manager Certification (training provided if hired).
  • Willing and able to lift 50lbs., and be continuously on your feet and walking.
  • Willing to undergo a background check.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Candidate must be willing to work weekends and holidays.

Salary

$50,000 - $60,000 per year
