Tamalpais Pediatrics is a welcoming, progressive, high-quality medical practice with offices in Larkspur and Novato specializing in the care of children from birth through adolescence. This is an exciting, paid, part-time associate therapist position working within our Behavioral Health Program serving children, adolescents, young adults, and families in a thriving pediatric medical office. This position is in-person only and is not remote.

Description

This position will provide an associate, under the supervision of a Licensed Mental Health Professional, a range of experiences including but not limited to, direct individual, family, and group therapy, case management, intake assessments, treatment planning, parenting education, crisis intervention, consultation, and collaboration with doctors, nurses, and psychiatrists. We will provide regular supervision to our Associates so that they may gain their required BBS hours for licensure and learn from the team and each other.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in the field of Psychology, Mental Health, Social Work, or other counseling-related field
  • Current registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an AMFT, ASW, or APCC
  • Prior direct service experience working with children, teens, young adults, and parents preferred
  • Have a clinical and working knowledge of crisis prevention and intervention preferred
  • A general understanding of child development preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Ability to work with diverse teams and clients to foster a culturally inclusive environment


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct direct individual therapy, both in person and through telehealth sessions, with children, teens, young adults, and families
  • Complete intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes
  • Co-facilitate and facilitate therapy groups.
  • Provide parenting education
  • Consult and collaborate with doctors, nurses, and psychiatrist
  • Maintain ongoing confidential records in a timely manner using an electronic health record system
  • Attend case consultation meetings, individual and group supervision meetings
  • Maintains all requirements put forth by the Board of Behavioral Sciences for Associates/interns
  • Utilize resources of public and private agencies and community organizations to meet the needs of patients

Salary Range

In accordance with California law, the expected hourly range for this California position is between $35 and $45 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.


Must be able to work in both our Novato and Larkspur offices.
