We are looking for a Medical Assistant that will share our team’s dedication to working with, listening to and providing the highest quality of care for our patients and their families.
Description
- Prepares the office and exam rooms for patient care, including cleaning, organizing and stocking of supplies.
- Performs patient intake, including (but not limited to) measurement of vital signs, height, weight, hearing and vision tests, and spirometry testing.
- Maintains cleanliness of office and exam rooms at all times per infection control policies.
- Inventories and stocks medical supplies and materials.
- Administers vaccines and oral medication, and performs routine laboratory tests.
- Processes in-office labs
- Follows all policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA and HIPAA guidelines
- Works collaboratively with all staff and clinicians
- Documents accurately and completely using an Electronic Medical Record
- Attends and participates in required meetings, training and educational programs.
- Performs administrative responsibilities in collaboration with the front office staff
- Performs other related work as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have a valid Medical Assistant certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant Educational program
- California Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification desired but not required.
- Must have current CPR certification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of work experience, including vaccine administration, is preferred.
- Prior experience working in pediatrics is a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills.
- Must have ability to multitask in a fast paced health-care clinic environment.
- Bilingual Portuguese and/or Spanish is highly desired.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and written.
- Ability to read English and comprehend medical information.
- Must be able to work at both the Novato and Larkspur locations.
