Job Summary:
Tamalpais Pediatrics is a welcoming, progressive high quality medical practice specializing in the care of children from birth through adolescence, with offices in Larkspur and Novato. We are looking for an IT Support Technician that will share our team’s dedication to providing the highest quality experience for our patients and their families.
The role of our IT Support Technician will be to provide general routine support to users and systems at our two offices and remote. We currently engage a network consultant to support our Windows environment. This new Technician role is intended to a generalist, providing hands-on, immediate help for users, and providing troubleshooting and system maintenance for the broad scope of our hardware and software systems.
This position is part-time and non-benefited, or may be filled by a contractor. Estimated commitment is 10 hours per week, perhaps more initially or as special projects arise.
Job Duties:
- Serves as a first level helpdesk support for in-office and remote users.
- Responds to hardware and equipment problems with workstations, scanners, printers, fax machines and other computer accessories.
- Troubleshoots software problems, and involves vendor support appropriately.
- Manages workstation inventory, including new workstation setup and configuration.
- Supports all devices, including PCs, Macbooks, and iPads
- Assists with basic network support, such as new user setup, printer setup, VPN setup, and password resets.
- Supports VOIP system configuration, involving telecom vendor when needed.
- Supports efax user setup.
- Supports electronic key card system.
- Coordinate onboarding of new employees into various electronic systems, establishing user accounts with appropriate levels of access.
- Involves external network consultant appropriately.
- Work collaboratively with leadership to define and execute IT priorities.
- Present ideas to further the mission of Tamalpais Pediatrics through technology.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous IT support work experience.
- Overall technical and practical knowledge of PCs and Macs.
- Ability to support Windows OS
- Strong support, troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across a variety of devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, and scanners.
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace
- Must be detail oriented and customer focused.
- Healthcare industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Must be able to work at both the Novato and Larkspur locations.
- General website and social media capabilities preferred. This position may be combined with a part-time Communications and Social Media Coordinator position to be eligible for benefits programs.
