Job Summary:

Tamalpais Pediatrics is a welcoming, progressive high quality medical practice specializing in the care of children from birth through adolescence, with offices in Larkspur and Novato. We are looking for a Communications and Social Media Coordinator that will share our team’s dedication to providing the highest quality experience for our patients and their families.

The role of our Communications and Social Media Coordinator will be to develop, improve, and maintain an effective online presence, and to leverage web based platforms for conveying pertinent and timely information to our patient community. Our primary goal is dissemination of important operational information and health related topics for our patients, parents/guardians, and local community. Our secondary objective is enhancement of the Tamalpais Pediatrics brand.

This position is part-time and non-benefited, or may be filled by a contractor. Estimated commitment is 10 hours per week, perhaps more initially or as special projects arise.

Job Duties:

  • Design a consistent look for social media postings.
  • Develop and manage a content calendar.
  • Create engaging content to post, several times per month.
  • Edit and compose blog and newsletter articles.
  • Identify information and articles from trusted sources appropriate for sharing with our audience.
  • Enhance, manage, and maintain our website, ensuring that all information is consistently accurate and up to date.
  • Utilize text, image, graphics, and videos appropriately.
  • Work collaboratively with leadership to define and execute communications priorities.
  • Present ideas to further the mission of Tamalpais Pediatrics through communications and social media.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience managing social media for small to medium sized businesses.
  • Working familiarity with various social media platforms.
  • Website design experience.
  • Familiarity with website content management software tools.
  • Excellent writing ability, to create blog and newsletter content.
  • Understanding of brand marketing.
  • Must be fluent in English, verbally and written.
  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations is preferred.
  • Healthcare industry experience is required.
  • While this position may be primarily remote, must be able to work at both the Novato and Larkspur locations.
  • General IT support capabilities preferred. This position may be combined with a part-time IT Support position to be eligible for benefits programs.
