Synaptic Solar, a professional solar installment contractor, seeks a qualified and enthusiastic team member for the Construction Lead role. As a Construction Lead, you are to assemble, install or maintain solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on roofs or other structures in compliance with site assessment and schematics. May include measuring, cutting, assembling, and bolting structural framing and solar modules. May perform minor electrical work such as current checks. They also install photovoltaic (PV) systems in accordance with codes and standards, using drawings, schematics, and instructions. Our culture is based on training and promoting from within. Responsibilities for a Construction Lead:

  • Meet on the job site at the agreed arrival time.
  • Lead and motivate the crew for the accurate completion of the installation.
  • Assist installers and troubleshoot any escalated issues.
  • Interpret blueprints and structural and electrical information to assemble Solar arrays.
  • Ensure the safety of yourself, other team members, and the customer at all times.
  • Transport, assemble, and install solar equipment on-site with high attention to job quality and safety.
  • Remove debris and discarded material from the job site.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Wage and Benefits for a Construction Lead:

• $30-$35 per hour (paycheck every Friday)

Requirements for a Construction Lead:

  • 2 or more years of experience as a Roofing or Construction Lead, leading 3 or more crew members
  • 3 or more years of experience in Roofing, Construction, HVAC, Electrical, or Carpentry
  • Must be able to demonstrate leadership skills
  • Understanding of national electrical code
  • Must have a general understanding of solar PV installation 
  • Ability to work on the roof in a physically demanding role.
  • Excellent balance and eye-hand coordination.
  • Excellent knowledge of basic construction principles and methods.
  • Ability to understand and use instructions and blueprints.
  • Excellent customer service and teamwork mindset.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 or more pounds regularly in extreme temperatures on high-sloped and uneven surfaces.
  • Valid and active state driver’s license.


Physical demands for a Roofing Lead:

  • Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces which requires frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balance
  • Ability to transport materials and equipment to the rooftop to complete installations.
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environment, and humidity
  • Ability to work within the safe range of equipment such as ladders, fall protection harnesses, and other PPE.
  • Ability to work while wearing heavy protective equipment such as arc flash suits, gloves, and face shields
  • Ability to work and maintain balance on roofs and other areas of height
  • Ability to walk on rafters, roof tiles, and roof shingles without damage
  • Ability to hear verbal commands and warnings
