We are seeking a full-time Financial Analyst to join our team in our Charlotte office (hybrid work schedule). Sycamore Financial Planning is a fee-only financial planning firm with offices in Durham, NC and Charlotte, NC. The firm provides financial advice and services to a diverse clientele helping them meet their goals for spending, saving, funding college, entering retirement, managing risk, making career changes, and more. The firm does not sell any financial products, and it receives all compensation directly from clients which helps minimize conflicts of interest and positively contributes to client relationships. There are also no minimums for client net worth or income. Clients appreciate the flexibility to pay for the services they need when they need them. Description

What You Will Do

  • Assist in all aspects of the financial planning process including assistance with gathering and organizing client information.
  • Support the planning team in maintaining client relationships.
  • Collaborate with the planning team in preparation for client meetings.
  • Communicate with clients and follow up on action items as needed.
  • Enthusiastically participate in professional associations such as FPA and NAPFA.
  • Work with the firm’s Principal and Senior Financial Planners in an intentional apprenticeship program designed to help you advance to the Associate Financial Planner level.


What We Seek in a Candidate

  • Interest in pursuing the CFP® designation.
  • Uncompromising integrity, ethical responsibility, and discretion in handling sensitive client information.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills as well as strong computer skills including expert use of Microsoft Office, financial planning software, and customer relationship management software.
  • Genuine alignment with Sycamore’s core values and financial planning model, and the ability to communicate them authentically to clients.
  • A friendly, confident, sincere, and empathetic approach to interpersonal relationships.
  • The desire and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

 

Qualifications for this Opportunity

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or closely related field or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to logically understand complex situations, conceive possible solutions, and analyze trade-offs / outcomes.
  • Core knowledge of financial industry, financial products, and financial planning concepts.
  • Ability to perform basic financial analysis.
  • Completion of full CFP® coursework is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the firm’s financial planning and other core systems is a plus.
