SWARM Fractional Head of Product Marketing Remote · Contractor Company website

SWARM is looking for a strategic, hands-on Fractional Head of Product Marketing to define how we position, explain, and sell our decision intelligence platform across the markets we serve.

About SWARM

SWARM Engineering ("SWARM") is an AI-powered optimization platform that automates complex operational decisions across supply chain, workforce, production, and logistics. SWARM's AI-powered decision intelligence models customers' entire operations and surfaces the right decisions, before volatility steals or erodes margins. SWARM is a fully remote company with employees spread across the United States, and contractors worldwide.

Description

The Role

As Fractional Head of Product Marketing, you will own the narrative connecting SWARM's technology to the operational problems our customers care about most. You will work across product, sales, customer success, and leadership to turn complex technical capabilities into clear, compelling positioning that operators and executives understand and trust.

This is a high-ownership role for an experienced product marketer who can build positioning from the ground up and turn that positioning into the messaging, materials, and sales tools needed to support growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Positioning & Messaging: Define and continuously refine SWARM's positioning, messaging architecture, value propositions, and differentiation across target markets and buyer personas.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Partner with leadership, sales, and product to develop go-to-market messaging for new products, capabilities, verticals, and customer use cases.
  • Sales Enablement: Create and improve the materials that help our sales team win, including pitch decks, solution briefs, competitive positioning, case studies, discovery materials, and other customer-facing collateral.
  • Website & Brand Narrative: Shape the messaging and content architecture across the SWARM website and external channels, ensuring our story is clear, differentiated, and consistent.
  • Product Storytelling: Work closely with product and technical teams to translate AI, optimization, and decision intelligence capabilities into language that business and operational buyers understand and value.
  • Customer & Market Insights: Develop a deep understanding of our customers, buyers, competitors, and markets, bringing those insights back to product, sales, and leadership to improve strategy and positioning.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the product marketing owner across the organization, working closely with sales, product, customer success, and executive leadership to ensure a consistent and compelling market narrative.
  • Thought Leadership: Support SWARM's presence at industry events, conferences, customer meetings, and other forums by developing the messaging and stories that establish SWARM as a leader in AI-powered operational decision making.

What You Bring

  • Experience: 8+ years of B2B product marketing experience, with demonstrated experience owning positioning and go-to-market strategy for complex technology products.
  • Product Marketing Leadership: Proven ability to build product positioning and messaging from the ground up and translate strategy into practical, customer-facing execution.
  • B2B Technology: Experience marketing enterprise SaaS, AI, analytics, optimization, decision intelligence, or other technically complex products.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in industrial technology, agrifood/agtech, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, or another operationally complex industry is strongly preferred.
  • Storytelling: Exceptional ability to simplify complex technical concepts into clear, compelling stories focused on customer outcomes rather than technical specifications.
  • Commercial Orientation: Strong understanding of how product marketing supports enterprise sales, including buyer personas, value propositions, competitive differentiation, sales enablement, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Builder Mentality: Comfortable operating in an early-stage environment where the playbook does not yet exist; able to move from strategy to execution without needing a large team or extensive resources.
  • Communication: Strong executive presence and the ability to work effectively with technical teams, salespeople, customers, and senior leadership.
  • Ownership: Self-directed, highly organized, and comfortable taking responsibility for defining the work, setting priorities, and driving projects through completion.

Why SWARM

  • Impact That Matters: Help build technology that makes food systems, manufacturing, and global supply chains more resilient in a decade of volatility.
  • Cutting-Edge AI: Shape the market narrative for a platform at the frontier of optimization, decision intelligence, and agentic AI.
  • High-Visibility Role: Work directly with SWARM's leadership team and have a meaningful influence on how the company, its products, and its technology are positioned in the market.
  • Build From the Ground Up: Establish the product marketing foundation and playbook for a company entering an important phase of growth.
  • Long-Term Impact: What you help build will shape how SWARM is understood by customers, partners, and the market for years to come.
