Stocking and Inventory Lead
Position Overview
The Stocking and Inventory Lead keeps our warehouse running smoothly by managing where products are stored, ensuring shelves stay stocked, and handling incoming shipments. This position is responsible for knowing exactly what inventory we have and where it's located. You'll work hands-on to organize our warehouse space efficiently, move products where they need to be, and maintain accurate inventory records.
Salary & Schedule
- $26-30/hr based on experience
- Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (some flexibility available)
- Inver Grove Heights, MN
Essential Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of inventory locations and quantities across warehouse
- Manage overstock areas with systematic organization for easy retrieval
- Perform regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
- Develop and implement improved inventory organization systems
- Audit overstock inventory logs to ensure accuracy
Stock Replenishment
- Proactively monitor shelf stock levels to prevent stockouts
- Process daily lists of items needed for fulfillment
- Retrieve and replenish inventory from overstock to active picking locations
- Plan and execute strategic stock movements to optimize warehouse space
- Coordinate with fulfillment team to understand inventory needs and priorities
- Properly organize and store inventory in appropriate locations
Receiving Operations
- Properly organize and store newly received inventory in appropriate overstock locations
- Lead the receiving process for all incoming shipments
- Verify accuracy of received merchandise against purchase orders
- Report discrepancies in received merchandise
Warehouse Operations
- Operate and maintain forklift
- Maintain organized and clean overstock and storage areas
- Support shipping and fulfillment functions during peak periods
- Participate in warehouse improvement initiatives
- Perform additional warehouse duties as business needs require
Required Qualifications
- Warehouse experience with focus on inventory and receiving operations
- Forklift certification or demonstrated proficiency with forklifts
- Experience with inventory tracking systems and Excel spreadsheets
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Problem-solving skills and proactive approach to inventory management
- Physical ability to perform regular lifting, moving, and warehouse activities
