Sports & Licensing Manager
Position: Sports & Licensing Manager
Type: Full-time, generally traditional work hours but flexible & accommodating.
Location: Preference may be given to candidates in the Twin Cities metro area, but the primary job functions can be conducted remotely.
Ideal candidate:
A Self Starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who enjoys traveling. Someone looking to improve and grow in a fast paced environment. A quick learner, who can quickly master current processes, identify opportunities, and build new processes when necessary. Has experience in wholesale apparel sales, specifically in collegiate (CLC, CAA, etc) & professional sports licensing and professional sports retail (NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, PGA Tour, etc), with a background in golf.
You will primarily sell to wholesalers and retailers including collegiate retailers, professional teams, and in-venue events. You will work with the Director of Corporate Sales to grow current partners, activate new partners, and hit KPI’s each quarter. You understand start-up culture and can be proactive at jumping into tasks and projects without being micromanaged. You have an analytical mindset with a desire to provide best in class service. You have a passion for Golf and believe that golf should be fun!
Roles / Responsibilities:
Sports Licensing
● Report to and work with the Director of Corporate Sales to ensure that KPIs and sales are trending towards goals.
● Primary point of contact for sales and servicing for all Sports Licensees & Licensors.
○ Actively seek out new opportunities to grow your account base through lead generation such as in person meetings, phone calls (including cold calls), email campaigns, direct reach outs, etc.
○ Maintain and grow relationships with our current account base of licensed professional teams, groups, colleges, and ecommerce platforms. Included but not limited to:
■ NHL, NBA, NFL, MLB, MiLB, Collegiate, MLS, etc.
● Owner of reporting royalties and sales with support from Director of Corporate Sales
○ NHL, NBA, NFL, MLB, MiLB, Collegiate, MLS, etc.
In-Venue
● In-venue execution from buyer meetings to delivery:
○ On-site servicing when required by event
○ Working with our Director of Operations for seamless fulfillment, packaging, shipping, and delivery of product on-time and accurately.
○ In-Venue retail shops includes:
■ PGA Tour, Champions Tour, LPGA Tour, Fanatics, USGA, LIV, etc.
● Owner of reporting royalties and sales included but not limited to:
○ PGA Tour, USGA, Fanatics, LIV, etc. ○ Sell-thru and sales metrics
■ Sell thru data based on sizes, styles, colors, categories, and time of sell thru
Sports Marketing
● Work as the liaison with Product & Marketing Teams to produce custom product for our PGA Tour, LIV Tour, and Player Ambassadors as needed
● Be lead project manager on executing LIV Team sponsored agreements in terms of marketing initiatives, photoshoots, player needs, custom needs, and merch tent deliverables
● Track reporting & KPIs associated with the sponsored relationships and marketing initiatives
Experience:
● Outside Sales: 5 years (required)
● Previous experience working with CLC, CAA, PGA Tour, Professional Sports retail, licensing (required)
● Ability to travel up to 30% of the year (required)
● Ability to prioritize and manage one's schedule (required)
● Current familiarity with our brand & brand voice (preferred) ● Current familiarity with Repspark/ApparelMagic (preferred) ● Previous experience in golf apparel sales (preferred)
Education: Bachelor's preferred
Compensation: $60,000 base + commission & bonus annually (OTE $100,000) Reimbursements: A standard per diem reimbursed per diem is available for travel.
Travel: Up to 40% of the time annually
● This is a non-exhaustive list of events and will likely get added to throughout the year: Merch tents, professional sports team meetings, collegiate meetings, trade shows, and additional key meetings. A tentative travel schedule for in-venue events:
