Respite Care Provider

About Us

Supports To Empower People (S.T.E.P.) Community Living Services, Inc. is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Respite Care Providers to support children and individuals with developmental disabilities and special needs throughout the Chula Vista and surrounding communities.

This position offers a meaningful opportunity to make a positive impact while working with multiple families in need of quality respite services. S.T.E.P. is committed to providing person-centered support that promotes independence, community inclusion, and family well-being.

Schedule

  • Part-time flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Scheduling based on family needs, provider availability, and assigned cases
  • Opportunities for additional hours as services become available

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and support in the home and community
  • Engage individuals in age-appropriate recreational, social, and educational activities
  • Foster a safe, positive, and supportive environment
  • Assist with routine care and daily living activities as needed
  • Encourage participation, independence, and skill development
  • Maintain professional communication with families and S.T.E.P. staff
  • Document service activities and observations as required

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children, adolescents, or adults preferred
  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or special needs is a plus
  • Compassionate, patient, and dependable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to pass all required background screenings
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Salary
