The Staff Accountant is responsible for analyzing records and reports, managing the company’s accounting of operations through inputting, reconciling, and processing invoices, expense reimbursements, credit cards and bank transactions, and preparing financial statements and reports. The Accountant will provide supervision of the Bookkeeper. The candidate should have a drive and desire to learn while supporting the successful growth of the company. The position will also involve working/collaborating with a cross functional team.

Description

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Maintain detailed records and files to document financial transactions including journal entries, account review documentation, and back up.
  • Prepare monthly closing journal entries, and maintain reconciliations for balance sheet, and income statement accounts. Manage monthly reconciliation schedules, such as, but not limited to fixed asset and accrued liabilities ledgers.
  • Preparation of payroll journal entries from payroll system.
  • Submits payment to 401K after payroll submission.
  • Creates and sends invoices to fund sponsors.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly financial reports.
  • Assist with analysis of company expenditures.
  • Assist in gathering the information for the annual and quarterly budget and reforecasts, respectively.
  • Process and file 1099’s annually.
  • Review Accounts Receivable and Payables ledger for accuracy and analysis.
  • Oversight of bookkeeper
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 3+ years accounting experience
  • Experience with Quickbooks Online preferred
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced excel skills preferred
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
