Description

Duties

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments across all age groups, including pediatrics, geriatrics, neonatal, and adult populations.
  • Manage acute pain, perform triage evaluations, and develop individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Administer medications and injections with expertise in immunizations, dermal fillers, botulinum toxin treatments, and other aesthetic procedures.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations using laboratory tests, sonography, medical imaging, and specimen collection/processing.
  • Document patient encounters accurately within EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide health coaching and education on disease prevention, nutrition, family planning, memory care, Alzheimer’s care, hospice & palliative medicine, and post-acute care strategies.
  • Collaborate with specialists in infectious disease care, respiratory therapy (ventilators), cardiac catheterization procedures, and occupational health services.
  • Participate in discharge planning, utilization review/management, case management activities for complex cases including DME needs or working with people with disabilities or developmental disabilities.
  • Assist in infection control protocols and aseptic techniques during invasive procedures such as spinal taps or sterile processing activities.
  • Engage in clinical research projects or quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.


Experience

  • Proven experience in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine units including Level I & II Trauma Centers or Level III trauma centers.
  • Extensive background in emergency medicine settings like ERs or urgent care clinics with skills in airway management and basic life support certification.
  • Experience working with EMR/EHR systems including Epic (preferred), Cerner, eClinicalWorks; familiarity with CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-9/10).
  • Prior roles involving inpatient/outpatient care across specialties such as internal medicine, family practice, geriatrics (including memory & dementia care), behavioral health, pediatric & neonatal intensive care units (PICU/NICU).
  • Skills in advanced procedures such as suturing, IV insertion/infusion therapy (including dialysis), catheterization (urinary or cardiac), gastrostomy tube feeding management.
  • Knowledge of nursing home operations or assisted living facilities; experience managing patients with complex needs like Alzheimer’s or dementia is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams; experience in teaching hospital environments is advantageous.
