Lead Registered Behavior Tech is responsible for training assistance and collaborate with BCBAs
● Training Assistance:
○ Support the Clinical Support Specialist in delivering training sessions for new RBTs, including demonstrating ABA techniques such as data collection,
reinforcement strategies, and behavior intervention plans.
○ Assist with gathering needed training materials, including visual aids, handouts, and data sheets.
○ Provide hands-on coaching to new RBTs during their initial training phase to reinforce ABA practices and ensure understanding.
● Competency Support:
○ Help teach portions of the RBT Initial Competency Assessment by observing and documenting trainee performance during specific tasks.
○ Offer constructive feedback to trainees on skill execution, including prompting, reinforcement, and data collection.
○ Identify areas where trainees need additional support and relay observations to the Clinical Support Specialist.
● Mentorship and Supervision:
○ Serve as a mentor to new RBTs by answering questions, offering guidance, and providing tips for success in the role.
○ Conduct peer reviews and provide support during on-the-job training, ensuring that new RBTs follow treatment plans accurately.
○ Model professionalism, ethical behavior, and best practices in all client interactions.
● Collaboration and Communication:
○ Communicate regularly with BCBAs and the Clinical Support Specialist to discuss trainee progress and share feedback.
○ Participate in team meetings to provide input on training needs, RBT challenges, and areas for improvement.
○ Collaborate with fellow RBTs to foster a supportive and collaborative work environment.
● Documentation and Organization:
○ Maintain organized records of trainee observations, feedback provided, and training session participation.
○ Assist in tracking new RBTs’ progress through training milestones and competencies.
○ Ensure that all documentation meets BACB standards and is submitted in a timely manner.
● Professional Growth and Development:
○ Stay updated on BACB guidelines, RBT competencies, and best practices in ABA through continuing education and professional development.
○ Participate in advanced training provided by the organization to prepare for a Clinical Support Specialist role.
○ Provide feedback on training programs and suggest improvements based on firsthand experience working with trainees.
● Supportive Environment:
○ Create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for new RBTs, encouraging them to ask questions and seek guidance.
○ Address any concerns from trainees with empathy and provide solutions or direct them to appropriate resources.
○ Promote teamwork and a positive learning environment among all staff members.
